Protection

The Lord is our protector. Isaiah prophesied, “For over all, the Lord’s glory will be shelter and protection shade from the parching heat of day, refuge and cover from storm and rain. (Is. 4:6).

Sister Mildred understood that Our Lady gave her a “mission” together with others closely connected with it.  Our Lady made known to her that she is particularly interested in the youth of our nation. It is they who are to be the leaders of the movement of renewal on the face of the earth. Their ranks will be swelled by the youths of other nations whom Our Lady also calls to help in the accomplishment of this great renewal. All will be under Our Lady’s promise of protection.

Our Lady promised that her medal will be our shield against evil; her picture or statue the protection of the home; and her statue at the National Shrine in Washington, D.C., a special safeguard for our country. (Diary 16).

Our Lady also said that the “blessed medal will be as a shield to protect them against the evil spirits, and St. Michael himself will be at their side to allay their fears at the final hour.” This reminds us of Psalm 5 where the psalmists prays, “You will shelter them and they will glory in you. For you bless the just, O Lord, and your good will surrounds them like a shield.”

To fulfill Our Lady’s requests and receive her promised protection and peace, we should wear the medal, display and venerate her image and pray for the installation of her statue in the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. Our Lady also said that we must have the knowledge and seriously study and live the Divine Indwelling.
